Email notifications
See which emails e-bon sends today
e-bon sends one automatic email: the end-of-day Z-report summary. It goes out the moment a device closes its fiscal day and files the Z-report, so the people on your notification list have the daily totals in their inbox without having to log into the Portal.
Review what is inside the Z-report email
The email mirrors a printed Z-report, formatted for Romanian operators (1.234,56 RON, 26.04.2026, 18:30):
| Section | Contents |
|---|---|
| Header | Organization name and device name |
| Period | Start and end timestamps of the closed fiscal day, plus the moment the report was generated |
| Totals | Sales, returns, net, number of receipts issued |
| VAT breakdown | One row per VAT rate (rate %, taxable base in RON, VAT in RON) |
| Footer | Automatic-message notice — replies are not monitored |
The email body is fully self-contained — no attachments, no external images, no links you need to click to see the figures. Everything is rendered in Romanian regardless of the recipient's Portal language.
Choose who receives the emails
Recipients are managed in the Portal, not per device. Anyone you add receives the Z-report summary for every device in your organization.
Open Settings → Notifications
In the Portal sidebar, choose Settings → Notifications. The screen is restricted to the Owner and Administrator roles.
Add up to 20 email addresses
Type each address and click Add recipient. Accountants, the on-call inbox, a shared owners@ alias — anything works as long as it is a valid mailbox.
Tick the Reports category
For each subscriber, make sure Reports is ticked. New subscribers have all categories enabled by default, which is fine even today — only Reports currently produces email.
Save changes
Click Save changes. Nothing leaves the Portal until you save, so you can review the list before committing.
For the full screen walkthrough — removing subscribers, the per-card category checkboxes, the 20-recipient cap — see Notification settings.
Troubleshoot a missing email
Email delivery is best-effort. e-bon hands the message to its email provider once and does not retry. The Z-report itself, however, is always saved — the email is a convenience copy, not the source of truth.
- Open Reports in the Portal and confirm the Z-report exists for that day and device — if it is there, the closure went through.
- Ask the recipient to check their Spam / Junk folder; corporate mailboxes occasionally quarantine the first message from a new sender.
- Make sure the address is still on Settings → Notifications and that Reports is ticked.
- If the address has been bouncing for a while (full mailbox, mistyped, mailbox closed), remove it and add the corrected address.
