E-BON App

Settings

Manage your account, language, location, and connection status from the Settings tab in the E-BON app.

The Settings tab is where you check what the app knows about itself and where you take a few quick actions: switch language, change the active location, link a guest install to a real email account, or sign out. This tab does not include push notifications, themes, biometrics, or dark mode — only the controls described below.

Check your account

The Account group shows who is signed in on this device:

  • Guest or Email — for a guest install you'll see Guest. Once you sign in with an email, the row shows your email address (or Not available if no address is on file).
  • User ID — a unique identifier for your account. Read this back to support when you report an issue.

There is no avatar, display name, or profile editor here.

See the app version and connection

The App group shows the current state of this device:

  • Version — the build of E-BON installed on this tablet. This is what is actually running, not the latest version available in the Play Store.
  • Offline Mode — shows Inactive when the app has a live link to the fiscal controller, and Active when it doesn't. Active means the app is running without a live connection — not that you turned something off.
  • Network — shows WiFi, Cellular, No Internet, or Unknown depending on the tablet's connection. Unknown is normal for a brief moment right after the app starts.

These three values are read-only. Quote them to support or your installer when something isn't working.

If Offline Mode stays Active or Network shows No Internet, see Troubleshooting.

Switch language

Tap the Language row to flip between Romanian and English. The change takes effect immediately — the value on the right of the row updates to Română or English, and the rest of the app re-renders in the new language. There is no restart and no confirmation prompt.

The language is set per device. It does not change the language of the Portal web app, the receipts printed by your fiscal device, or any other paired tablet.

Change the active location

The Location group appears only after you've signed in with an email and chosen a location. On a fresh install, the app sends you to a dedicated location picker on first launch — the Location row only appears in Settings after you've made a first choice.

The row shows the name of the active location on the left and Change location on the right. Tap anywhere on the row to open the picker.

The active location decides which devices show up under the Devices tab and which fiscal commands this tablet receives. After you switch, receipts and operations route to the printers attached to the newly selected location.

Open the picker

From Settings → Location, tap the row showing the current location name. The location picker opens.

Pick from the list

The picker shows every location your organization has set up. Each card displays the location's name and, if available, its address.

If the list is still loading you'll see a spinner. If your organization has no locations yet, you'll see No location available — locations are added from the Portal.

Select one

Tap the location card you want. The app saves your choice, registers this tablet against the new location, and returns you to the main tabs. After that, this tablet operates under the location you picked.

Skip the picker with a single location

If your organization has only one location, the picker selects it automatically after a short pause and shows a Selecting automatically... banner. You'll land back on the main tabs without having to tap anything.

This group appears only while you're signed in as a guest. A guest install is tied to this tablet only — if the tablet is lost, reset, or its app data is cleared, the guest account and everything tied to it are gone for good.

Tap Link Account to expand a small form with two fields:

  • Email — the address you want to use to sign in from now on.
  • Password — the password to set for that email.

Tap Confirm Link to save. On success, the form closes and the Account row above flips from Guest to your email address. If something is wrong with the email or password, a red banner appears above the form with the error — fix the input and try again. The form stays open until the link succeeds or you close it.

Link the account before you rely on this tablet in production. A guest account can sign in only from the tablet that created it, and there is no way to recover it if the tablet is wiped.

Sign out

Sign Out is the last row on the screen. Tapping it opens a confirmation: Are you sure you want to sign out? with two buttons — Cancel and Sign Out.

Confirming clears the session and the active location on this tablet, and sends you back to the login screen. The next launch starts from the sign-in flow described in Installing the app.
